Schott's Brilliant Attack
The 1950 World Championship Road Race was held in Moorslede, Belgium. The 284 km race course in West Flanders was extremely challenging.
Talented Belgian Alberic “ Briek ” Schotte attacked late and broke away from an elite group to gain his second World Championship. Dutchman Theo Middlekamp, World Champion in 1947, finished second 59 seconds behind Schotte.
