Vuelta a Espana 2005: Preview and Profile Stage 13

Friday, September 9th Stage 13: Burgos to Santuario de la Bien Aparecida (Ampuero) 196 Km

The Vuelta 2005 welcomes a first time stage finish on the Santuario de la Bien Aparecida. Every new finish provides an extra incentive for all riders. The prestige of being the first to win on an ‘unedited' finish will make this stage more competitive. The stage is almost two-hundred kilometers in length with the first hundred ridden at high speed. Then the ascent of the category 1 Puerto de la Sia, just before entering Cantabria and a ‘rocket ship' descent. This is followed by two third category climbs, the Alto Cruz Usaño and Alto Fuente las Varas, and the finish at the Bien Aparecida. A very attractive stage!
