Gustave Garrigou (Fra)

Born: September 24, 1884, Vabres-L'Abbaye, France

Died: January 28, 1963

Professional: from 1907 to 1914

Gustave Garrigou won the 1911 Tour de France, finished second in the 1907, 1909 and 1913 Tours. He placed on the podium (1 st , 2 nd or 3 rd ) 6 of the 8 times he started the tour. He also started 117 stage and finished in the top 5 sixty-five times. In 1911, Garrigou was the only rider to climb the Tourmalet without walking his bike, which earned him one hundred gold francs.

In the one-day events, Garrigou won the 1907 Tour of Lombardy and the 1911 Milan-San Remo. He was second in the 1912 Paris-Roubaix. He passed away on January 28, 1963 at the age of 78.
