Binda from Start to Finish

SPECIAL NOTE: The Giro d'Italia organizers instituted a change to the GC rules. A stage win would now gain a rider a one-minute time bonus. Another change had stages scheduled on consecutive days. Prior race schedules had at least one rest day between stages.

Binda dominating the Giro

An untouchable Alfredo Binda won the first 3 stages and demonstrated great superiority to dominate a record number 266 starters. Alfredo Binda led the Giro from start to finish. This was Binda's 2nd Giro d'Italia victory.

SPECIAL NOTE: Binda’s 12 stage wins in one year is still a Giro record.
