Herckenrath Outsprints 5-Rider Breakaway
The 24th edition of Liege-Bastogne-Liege was held on May 13, 1934.
Racing under brilliant sunshine a group of five riders, including Theo Herckenrath (La Francaise), Mathieu Cardynaels (Génial Lucifer), Joseph Moerenhout (Dilecta), defending LBL champion Francois Gardier (Depas), and Francois Adam (Alcyon), broke away and rode into Liege to contest the sprint.
Belgian Theo Herckenrath outsprinted his four breakaway companions for the prestigious Liege-Bastogne-Liege victory.
